April 13

April 13, 2012

Well I was feeling pretty homesick today, we all were but no one wanted to admit it. Frank Turner was tonight, but none of us could even think about that. We stayed up the night before drinking Fosters and watching Rocky. We slept in and missed the free breakfast, instead we got up and headed to the laundromat. I thought we'd be there all day but the machines went quickly enough. It was expensive though.

After dropping our clothes off at the room I wanted to go to the Imperial War Museum. I think Bryce and Cam were a little reluctant but we had nothing else to do. The museum was pretty cool filled with tanks, planes, guns, ect. We probably spent about two and a half hours there. We planned on going to MI6, which was further down the river but it was getting close to our concert and we wanted to rest our feet before we left. Cam mailed some post cards, Bryce and I watched more terrible British television. We found a street around the corner from us with a group of bakeries where you can get a foot long sandwich on a baguette for £1.40, I think we'll be eating here a lot to save some dough. London hasn't been as expensive as I thought it would be, but we haven't done much drinking yet.

We left at about 4 towards Wembley Arena, it was easy to get to and the tube system here isn't so hard to figure out. We spent a lot on beers it was about 7 Canadian dollars per pint, and I had about 7 of them. Frank Turner at Wembley Arena was the best show I've ever been to, the opening acts were amazing (if you like Frank, Against Me!, Andrew Jackson Jihad I suggest you check out Beans On Toast) we met some cool people and sang till we were coughing up blood. Now we're in our room watching Rocky II. Leandra comes in tomorrow, it'll be good to see a familiar face.
